THE REVEREND-jesse jackson

Basically what I obtained from this reading was the fact that Jesse Jackson is mad at how the economy is targeted towards the majority race, not minorities like African Americans and Hispanics, yet he speaks of how the minority races spend money at a faster rate.  I am quite confused on what he is trying to convey, for he uses too much information in order to get to his point.  This just makes me believe more in the great Arkansasan invention that is Wal-Mart.  Sam walton wasn't racist by any means, instead he would just ratherput out all other companies at any cost regardless of race, for you see he was simply trying to create spending equality by having low low prices at high costs of other businesses.  Therefore we should all just get along and make the economy be more directed towards all people for equal rights instead of just the big spenders.

Mary-Louise Parker On Nudity

Well finally theres a topic with a little bit of juiciness to it...I love how she takes a humorous approach to nudity, because personally I dont find anything wrong with nudity in any way shape form or fashion.  Sure there may be a few people out there that I wouldn't want to see naked, but by all means I believe that nudity is blown completely out of proportion by society.  I was raised catholic, and she mentions in the article how the catholic digest web site gives warnings about nudity, and I found the full monty to be completely hilarious, not shocking or shameful.  I mean pornography is a completely different issue from what is being spoken of here, I do realize that, but there is nothing wrong with a simple painting or picture of a naked body, by all means that is how most artists became famous in renaissance times.  So to wrap it all up, I believe this is a great article that should expand the minds of those opposed to nudity expressed in artful ways.

P.S. After realizing my thoughts on this subject, one must beg the question...have I ever thought about being a male stripper? and well the answer to that shall ever remain a mystery, but ill give you a hint...is the pope catholic?

Patti LeBelle

This woman is simply amazing.  There is no other way to put it.  From reading this story, it has made me even more excited about living life and pursuing my goals no matter what.  One of my motto's has always been to live life to the fullest and live every day as it were your last.  Patti did this and never held anything back regardless of the hardships that were passed her way.  The reason I have a sunrise in the background is to prove that no matter what happens, there will always be another day tommorow and the rising sun is proof that life will get better and the sun will come up no matter how terrible your day was.

LL Cool J's Impotent Demon

I can somewhat relate to this story, because as a child I had spankings for punishment.  However this was by my own father, not someone who was pretending to be my father.  Personally I dont believe in punishing your children in such a harsh way, and that's why I was truly shocked by this story.  Not only did this story make me realize some things that I blocked from my memory, but also it made me think about the ways I will choose to punish my children in the future.  I generally feel sorry for LL and I do believe that this probably drove him harder to do something with his life so he wouldn't be unhappy like Roscoe was.

Responding to suicide is a very touching subject, that is extremely hard to relate to if you do not personally know how hard it is to deal with any type of death.  Personally, one of my good friends died in the summer before senior year, and that was really the only person close to me that has died.  None of my family has passed yet, and it took the death of a friend to cause me a massive amount of pain.  Disbelief is always the first reaction to bad news, especially death, and thats why I find suicide to be such a terrible subject, because no one believes that it actually happened.  The only way to deal with that is to simply not let anything hold you back, and to fulfill all of your dreams no matter what gets in your way.  If you let someone else or somethign else get you so extremely down that you can't get out, then for me suicide is not the answer.  No one should want to commit suicide no matter how terrible their situation is, because it could always be worse.
